Hook Property
The Hook property is an early stage grassroots exploration target that was generated in 2023 utilizing the same methodology that resulted in the discovery of the Catch property. Only one season of exploration has been completed on the project and results warrant further work.
South-Central Yukon, 110-km from Whitehorse, 70-km from Carmacks, 35-km from highway
1600 Hectares, 80 Quartz Claims
Helicopter & Floatplane Accessible
Porphyry (Copper-Gold) & Epithermal
Key Facts
-
Early-stage exploration project in underexplored northern extension of Stikine Terrane
-
Excellent geology broadly similar to British Columbia's Toodoggone District & Golden Triangle
-
Numerous quartz-feldspar porphyry plugs identified on property intruding Triassic basalts and volcaniclastics
Project Summary
-
The 16 sq. km, 100%-owned Hook property is located 110 km north of the capital city of Whitehorse & 35 km from highway and grid power in south-central Yukon.
-
The project is accessible via floatplane or helicopter and lies within the Traditional Territory of the Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation.
-
The claims were staked in 2023 based on extensive research and a similar geological environment to the adjacent Catch property, discovered by Burke in 2020.
Regional Geology
The Property lies within the Stikine Terrane, adjacent to a large flexure along the 1,000+ km long Teslin-Thibert fault. The Teslin-Thibert’s southern extension terminates near the Kemess-Toodoggone porphyry-epithermal district. The Stikine is characterized by Late Triassic to early Jurassic volcanic-plutonic arc complexes host to porphyry-epithermal systems including the Red Chris, Schaft Creek, Kemess-Toodoggone, KSM and Galore Creek deposits and mines.
Property Geology
-
Structural intersections on the property represent escape conduits of deep-seated faults in the area.
-
Lithological contacts between porphyryitic plugs and dykes with surrounding basalt and volcaniclastics is the main exploration target.
-
Sporadic till cover in the area masks geochemical signal on parts of the property.
Historical Exploration
No previous work has ever been conducted on the property. Hook is a brand-new grassroots target in an underexplored prospective northern extension of the Stikine Terrane.
Modern Exploration
A single exploration campaign has been conducted at Hook which included geochemical surveys and geological mapping, resulting in:
-
Delineation of multi-element soil anomalies
-
Identification of rock units on the property that differ from the regional geological map
Mineralized Zones

-
Further work is required to follow-up on early stage soil anomalies in order to discover mineralization beneath thin till cover on the property
Future Work
Future work recommendations on the property include a drone magnetic survey, geological mapping, and additional prospecting. Further stream sediment sampling outboard of the property boundary is also recommended.
